Abstract
A new species of the genus Theretra is described from the Indonesian island of Seram. It is compared in habitus and morphology of the male genitalia with its sympatric close relative, Theretra indistincta manuselensis (Joicey & Talbot, 1921).

A new species of the genus Theretra Hübner, [1819], Theretra ankae sp. nov., is described and illustrated from Asosa, Ethiopia. A comparison of the habitus and male genitalia is made with those of its closest relatives, Theretra jugurtha (Boisduval, [1875]), Theretra tessmanni Gehlen, 1927 and Theretra dominikae Melichar & Řezáč, 2013.
