Four new Periga Walker, 1855 (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae, Hemileucinae, Hemileucini) from Southeastern and Southern Brazil Carlos G. C. Mielke 1, Fabio L. Santos 2, Frank Meister 3, Ronald Brechlin 4, Pages 121-140, Published: 28 June 2013

Abstract

Four new Periga Walker, 1855 from Southeastern and Southern Brazil are described: Periga caraca sp. n. from Minas Gerais; Periga acuta sp. n. from Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, S~ao Paulo, Paran_a, and Santa Catarina; Periga alticola sp. n. from Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro; and P. pulchra sp. n. from Paran_a, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. These are compared to the similar species, Periga circumstans Walker, 1855 described from Rio de Janeiro, which di_ers mainly by the habitus, male labial palp color, tarsus color, and male genitalia. Percentage di_erences in the partial COI mitochondrial gene sequences (DNA barcode) are presented for all species. Holotypes are deposited in Col. Padre Jesus S. Moure, Departamento de Zoologia, Universidade Federal do Paran_a, Curitiba, Paran_a, Brazil.

Cinq nouveaux Sphingidae asiatiques (Lepidoptera: Sphingidae) Jean Haxaire 1 & Tomas Melichar 2, Pages 141-160, Published: 28 June 2013

Abstract

The authors describe five new species of Asiatic Sphingidae: Degmaptera laotiana sp. n. and Enpinanga teyniei sp. n. from Laos, Macroglossum claudepierreae sp. n. et Macroglossum wackenheimi sp. n. from Sulawesi and Dolbina manjunatha sp. n. from south India. Adults are illustrated as well as the male genitalia.
