Abstract
Five new taxa of Sphingidae are described: Manduca ziva n. sp. from Western Ecuador and Colombia; Manduca herbini n. sp. from Bolivia; Orecta titana n. sp. from Bolivia; Theretra detonnancourorum n. sp. from Timor and Tanimbar, and Xylophanes tyndarus splendens n. ssp. from Central America. The morphological uniformity of Nyceryx riscus (Schaus, 1890) is confirmed throughout the currently known geographical range of the species, despite a clear genetic divergence in DNA barcodes observed between Meso- and South American specimens.
